BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A son accused his mother of stealing his shoes, which prompted his dad to chase him with a hatchet.
Authorities responded to a disturbance call on Sunday, October 27, around 9:25 p.m. at a residence on Nester Lane in Peytona, Boone County. According to the report, the incident began when a son confronted his mother about stealing a pair of his shoes. After a brief discussion, the mother reportedly left for her home.
Shortly after, the victim’s father, Robert Estep, allegedly arrived at the victim’s camper visibly upset, wielding a hatchet. Witness statements indicate that the father began shouting and then pursued the victim around the camper.
The man managed to escape inside the camper and locked the door. However, the father reportedly struck the camper door multiple times with the hatchet, breaking the glass and damaging the door before ultimately leaving the property.
Estep is charged with domestic assault and destruction of property. He is currently out on bond.
