FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Emergency responders, county agencies and volunteers are continuing efforts to assist Fayette County residents affected by extensive flooding along Route 61.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department said deputies are working alongside the Fayette County Commission, Fayette County Office of Emergency Management, Fayette County 911, Loup Creek Fire Department, West Virginia Emergency Management Division, Fayette County Health Department, Robson Freewill Baptist Church and numerous community volunteers.
Crews and volunteers have been working throughout the affected areas to deliver meals, drinking water and other essential supplies to residents impacted by the flooding. They are also providing information about resources available during the recovery.
The response has brought together emergency personnel, county agencies, local organizations, churches and volunteers as residents continue dealing with the effects of the flooding.
Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen said the response highlights the importance of agencies and community organizations working together during emergencies.
“Our community has always stepped up when our neighbors are in need of help, and we are seeing that again,” Sheriff McMullen said.
“This has been a tremendous team effort, and our priority remains making sure the people affected by this flooding know they are not alone and that help is available.”
