FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Tuesday, May 20, Deputy Shreve responded to a call from the Fayette County 911 Center reporting a man threatening to bring a gun into a local establishment. The suspect was described as a male driving a white pickup truck with a covered bed and a dog inside, seen speeding back and forth in the parking lot of the Cold Spot Bar.
Deputy Shreve, accompanied by Chief Jasper of the Mount Hope Police Department, arrived on the scene and found a man matching the description—identified as Tommie Holley—standing next to the truck. Officers immediately detected the odor of alcohol on Holley.
Holley admitted to waiting outside the bar for an individual he planned to fight, stemming from an earlier argument over a bill inside the bar. According to patrons, Holley had tried to pay his tab with a large bag of coins. When refused, he became verbally aggressive, cursed at the bartender and guests, threatened a fistfight, and warned he would bring a gun inside.
The bar went into lockdown as Holley exited and waited outside. Officers also learned that Holley had been previously trespassed from the property. Outside, Holley continued threatening those involved, flicked a lit cigarette at another individual, and made derogatory gestures.
When officers attempted to arrest Holley, he refused to cooperate—resisting being handcuffed, refusing to stand, and disobeying commands.
