FAYETTE COUNTY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – The Fayette County Commission has accepted Tri-State Roofing-Sheet Metal’s bid of $68,621 to complete the county’s Soldier and Sailors Memorial Building roofing project.
Commissioners approved the Tri-State’s bid during a regular meeting on Friday, March 19, after carefully reviewing all three of the bids that were presented in a previous meeting.
When the bids were first presented, the Commissioners agreed to table the issue so that the proposals could be carefully evaluated and compared, ensuring that the best choice was being made in terms of the funds required for the amount of work being done.
During the review, it was discovered that although another company submitted a lower bid, Tri-State- the middle bidder- seemed to be the best fit for the building’s needs.
Commissioner Allison Taylor gave further explanation as to why Tri-State was chosen, stating that, out of all three companies, Tri-State presented the most comprehensive bid and included other skillsets that the county may utilize in the future, specifically awning work.
The Commission did not detail when work will begin on the building.
