FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – At its regular meeting on Tuesday, the Fayette County Commission approved the county fire budget for 2025-26.
Each department that receives funding from the county received a budget increase despite a 48% cut in the fire levy, along with truck payoffs for each department with trucks that have an outstanding balance.
The new budgets for each department for 2025-26 may be viewed below:
Ansted Fire Department:
$80,000 plus a $58,717 truck payoff, and roof repair
Armstrong Creek Volunteer Fire Department:
$59,000
Boomer Volunteer Fire Department:
$59,000, plus ~$70,000 truck payoff
Danese Volunteer Fire Department:
$61,000
Fayetteville Fire Department:
$83,000, plus $22,000 for alarm system
Gauley Bridge Volunteer Fire Department:
$61,000 plus $239,305 truck payoff
Gauley River Volunteer Fire Department:
$57,000
Loup Creek Volunteer Fire Department:

Meadow Bridge Volunteer Fire Department:
$58,000, plus repair on the floor of the department
Montgomery Fire Department:

According to Commission President John Brenemen, the total fire budget for 2024-25 was $1,022,956, with the 2025-26 budget increasing to $1,107,750 plus $654,464.26 in truck payoffs.
Commissioners say the truck payoff amounts may vary as they receive updated balance totals due to recent payments and accrued interest.
