FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Deputy Sheriff T.L. Farley II, with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, arrested Joshua Johnson during a routine patrol in the Hico area. The arrest occurred after Deputy Farley observed Johnson operating a red Honda ATV on Miller Ridge Road without a helmet. Johnson, known from prior encounters, was identified as having a revoked West Virginia driver’s license.
Upon stopping Johnson, Deputy Farley conducted a background check, confirming Johnson’s license had been revoked for driving under the influence. During a pat-down, Johnson admitted to possessing methamphetamine. While being escorted to the cruiser, Johnson appeared nervous and revealed he had a firearm in his bag on the ATV. He also informed the deputy that he had prior domestic violence charges, which prohibited him from possessing firearms.
The firearm was secured as evidence, and further investigation revealed that Johnson had a misdemeanor conviction in Fayette County on February 6, 2019, and his license had been revoked due to a DUI conviction on January 24, 2019.
Joshua Johnson now faces additional charges related to the possession of methamphetamine, driving with a revoked license, and illegal firearm possession.
