OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Jonathan Blair, 35, of Scarbro, was arrested Sunday, November 9, following an attempted theft in the Sunnyside Drive area of Oak Hill.
Police responded to a report of suspicious activity after residents’ security cameras captured a man attempting to enter a vehicle while carrying two tool bags.
Officers located Blair nearby placing bags matching the security footage in a bush along the White Oak Rail Trail.
When approached, Blair attempted to flee on a bicycle and then on foot, leading police on a brief pursuit before he was apprehended without further incident.
Authorities recovered a wide array of items valued at over $1,000, including tools such as Dewalt screwdrivers, battery chargers, wire cutters, a Kobalt cordless drill, a Dewalt saw, and multiple hand tools.
In addition, officers found household and party items including plastic cutlery, party napkins, coloring paper, assorted sunglasses, and a pocket knife. A Mongoose Brawler bicycle was also recovered at the scene.
Blair was arrested and charged with grand larceny and fleeing from an officer. He is currently at Southern Regional Jail.
