SCARBRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County woman has been charged in connection with the theft of firearms, tools, and other property from a residence in Scarbro.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the West Virginia State Police, troopers spoke with the homeowner on October 13 about a theft that reportedly occurred the day prior at his home on Okey L. Patteson Road.
The homeowner told troopers that Kelly Rae Parsons, 43, of Scarbro, had been staying at the residence.
The man said he returned home after hunting on October 12 and discovered that Parsons had left.
When he went to secure a firearm inside his gun safe, he noticed two guns missing: a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver and a .22 caliber RG revolver.
Troopers say additional items were also reported stolen, including a Craftsman inverter generator, Dewalt impact drills with batteries and chargers, a Cobalt 24-inch pipe wrench, a helmet-mounted mining light, and a bucket containing about $150 in coins.
The homeowner told troopers that he and Parsons were the only two who knew the combination to the locked gun safe and that all property had been accounted for before he left earlier that day. He valued the missing items at more than $1,000.
Parsons was arrested and charged with grand larceny. She is currently out on bond.
