FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Fayette County Republican Executive Committee has released a list of applicants who sought appointment to fill the vacant House of Delegates seat formerly held by David Elliott Pritt, identifying which candidates are eligible and which are ineligible for consideration.
The document, titled “Candidate Eligibility & Contact List,” was prepared for committee review on Aug. 2, 2026.
According to the list, the following applicants are eligible for appointment:
- William Jennings Vest
- Terri Lynn Bowen Martin
- Brent Alan Hudnall
- Nicholas Huddleston
- Isaac Michael Carpenter
- Eric Walton
The committee also identified five applicants as ineligible based on addresses and information contained in the GOP Data Center.
Those applicants include:
- Christopher Marcus Ratliff — “Legislative District 45 according to GOP Data Center; also shown as a registered Independent.”
- Robert Shirley Love — “Legislative District 51 according to GOP Data Center.”
- Teresa Dorsey — “Legislative District 51 according to GOP Data Center.”
- Shawn Edward Strickland — “Legislative District 51 according to GOP Data Center.”
- Marcus Seth Kessler — “Legislative District 51 according to GOP Data Center.”
The Fayette County Republican Executive Committee will use the list as part of its review process to recommend a replacement to serve the remainder of Pritt’s term.
