RAVENSWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic disturbance at a residence on Sand Street in Ravenswood escalated into a violent confrontation on Wednesday, prompting a swift police response. Corporal David Prechtl, Patrolman Austin Anderson, and Patrolman Joshua Ankrom of the Ravenswood Police Department were dispatched to the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting threats and property destruction.
The complainant informed officers that she and the defendant, her husband, Timothy Snodgrass, had been arguing throughout the day, with tensions rising over her desire for a divorce. The situation escalated when the defendant, reportedly intoxicated, began throwing furniture and damaging property inside the home.
According to witnesses, the man obtained a knife and made threats that placed his wife and children in fear for their safety. Family members, fearing imminent harm, retreated upstairs and called 911. During the call, dispatchers overheard the man yelling and demanding one of his daughters bring him a TV remote, threatening further destruction if his demands were not met.
Officers arrived promptly, taking the defendant into custody without further incident. He now faces charges of domestic assault. A background check revealed an active warrant for petit larceny in Wood County, for which he was also detained.
