MEIGS COUNTY, OH (LOOTPRESS) – A man wanted in both West Virginia and Ohio was captured Thursday, May 22, after a police pursuit and a tip from a FedEx driver led authorities to his location.
According to Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch, 45-year-old Timothy Wickersham of Pomeroy was wanted for failure to comply charges in both states, as well as a parole violation in Meigs County.
The incident began when officers from the Mason and New Haven police departments initiated a vehicle pursuit that crossed into Meigs County.
The suspect, believed to be Wickersham, crashed his vehicle in the Bunker Hill Road area of Bedford Township and fled into nearby woods.
At around 4:20 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a call from a FedEx driver who had seen a social media alert about Wickersham.
The driver reported spotting Wickersham hitchhiking on State Route 143. He offered Wickersham a ride in the back of his truck, then locked him inside and called 911.
Wickersham was taken into custody shortly after.
