BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will open in Raleigh County on Tuesday, April 15, to assist residents affected by recent severe weather events.
The center, operated by FEMA in coordination with the West Virginia Emergency Management Division (WVEMD), will be located at Beckley-Raleigh County Emergency Services, 1224 Airport Road in Beaver.
The center will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be closed on Sundays.
Homeowners and renters in the disaster-declared counties of Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Raleigh, Wayne, and Wyoming are encouraged to apply for federal assistance.
Residents can apply in several ways:

- Visit a Disaster Recovery Center in person
In-person help is available at DRCs across the affected counties.
Residents can receive help with applications, updates, and information on available resources. All centers are accessible and open to all individuals, including those with disabilities.

FEMA reminds residents that applying for disaster assistance will not affect eligibility for federal benefits such as Social Security, Medicaid, or SNAP.
Assistance does not need to be repaid, but residents must first file any applicable insurance claims, as FEMA cannot duplicate assistance covered by other sources.
