CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals has annulled the law license of former Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Hatfield, according to a court order issued on Feb. 5, 2025.
The Office of Lawyer Disciplinary Counsel submitted a petition on Dec. 20, 2024, requesting the annulment of Hatfield’s license, citing his voluntary consent to disbarment.
Hatfield formally filed his affidavit under seal on Dec. 30, 2024.
The court granted the petition, effectively disbarring Hatfield from practicing law in West Virginia.
The decision follows his resignation as Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney on Oct. 25, 2024, amid multiple allegations of workplace misconduct.
The order states that service of an attested copy constitutes sufficient notice of the court’s ruling.
