KENTUCKY (LOOTPRESS) – Former NFL cornerback and West Virginia University standout Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested early Saturday morning in Covington, Kentucky, on multiple charges including public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assault of a police officer.
Jones, 41, was taken into custody around 1:51 a.m. and booked into the Kenton County Detention Center. He has since posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
According to a statement released Saturday evening by the Covington Police Department, officers responded just before 12:45 a.m. to a disturbance at The Second Story Bar involving a customer and an employee.
When officers arrived, they were directed to a vehicle attempting to leave the area. A traffic stop was conducted, and Jones was identified as a passenger.
During the investigation, officers determined Jones was intoxicated and behaving disorderly. He was arrested on the scene and transported to the jail.
Police say that while being lodged, Jones assaulted the arresting officer, causing a minor injury. As a result, he faces charges of alcohol intoxication, second-degree disorderly conduct, and third-degree assault on a police officer.
Jones rose to national prominence as a football star at West Virginia University, where he was known for his athleticism and versatility in the secondary and on special teams.
He went on to play in the NFL for several teams, including a notable stretch with the Cincinnati Bengals from 2010 to 2017. He retired from professional football in 2019 after a season with the Denver Broncos.
