WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A fugitive from West Virginia was arrested early Thursday morning in Akron by the U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF), in collaboration with the Cops United Felony Fugitive Enforcement Division (CUFFED) from West Virginia.
Authorities took Dayshon Lewis, 24, into custody on Jason Avenue after he was found hiding in a closet.
Lewis was wanted in Wood County for bond violations related to charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute, and conspiracy.
His arrest warrant was issued in June 2023. He was also wanted by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office for firearms violations dating back to a warrant issued in June 2022.
During the arrest, officers seized two handguns, $24,000 in cash, and suspected methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and marijuana.
A woman inside the home was also charged with obstruction.
“This fugitive has been on the run for a long time, but the U.S. Marshals Service will always catch up to those on the run. We are thankful to have two more guns and drugs off the streets of our communities,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
