Lindside – The James Monroe boys basketball team received its state championship rings commemorating the Class A victory in march.
After the youth basketball camp that the team hosted in conjunction with the girls basketball team concluded, the players were handed their rings while the cheerleaders received pendants that mimic the ring’s face.
The Mavericks became only the second boys basketball team in state history to finish a season 28-0 when they defeated sectional foe Greater Beckley 72-47in March in the Class A state championship game.
The ring honors that achievement with the score and date of the game engraved inside the ring.
