Shady Spring 4, Nicholas County 3
Shady Spring – Facing elimination, Shady Spring rallied to scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to claim a 4-3 win over Nicholas County Friday in Shady.
With the win the two teams will play again on Saturday with the winner advancing to the regional round.
Colten Tate, Jordan Meadows and Brian Seabolt all netted RBIs in the win while Tyler Reed went the distance, yielding just two earned runs in seven innings.
Summers County 14, Mount View 4
Hinton – Summers County scored in every inning Friday, staving off elimination with a 14-4 win over Mount View in six innings.
With the win the Bobcats will face the loser of Monday’s Greater Beckley-James Monroe matchup.
Brandan Isaac led the charge with six RBIs while Colton Jones and Devin Mansfield collected three hits each for the Bobcats.
Midland Trail 8, Greenbrier West 2
Charmco – Greenbrier West’s offnes staggered Friday as the Cavaliers saw their season end in an 8-2 loss to Midland Trail in Hico.
Alex Dempsey led Trail with two hits and three RBIs while Bo Perisnger pitched 6.2 innings to secure the win.
Ethan Holliday led West with two hits in the loss.
