Shady Spring – Shady Spring held Independence to two points in the opening quarter, eliminating the Patriots from sectional play with a 37-29 win Saturday at Shady Spring.
Kylee Barnes led Shady with 10 points while Harmony Mills posted 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Indy.
Shady Spring will travel to No. 1 PikeView on Monday.

Fairlea – Cadence Stewart poured in 32 points on senior night as the Greenbrier East blasted its way to a 67-36 win over Chapmanville Saturday in Fairlea.
Kennedy Stewart added 18 points in the win for East which held Chapmanville to 31 percent shooting form the floor.
Alaina Evans led the Tigers with 10 points in the loss.
Mercer Christian 62, Grace Christian 35
Mercer Christian’s defense held Grace christian in check Saturday at the Cavaliers earned a 62-35 win and with it the WVCAT title.
Kayley Trump led Mercer Christian with 17 points while Karis Trump added 12. Kayley Trump earned Tournament MVP honors for her efforts while Karis Trump and Ella Botts earn all-tournament honors.
Mercer Christian will play Friday in the quarterfinals of the WVCEA tournament.
