Institute – Karis Trump scored 18 points as Mercer Christian cruised to the WVCAT championship game with a 65-24 win over Elk Valley in the semis at West Virginia State on Friday.
Kayley Trump added 15 in the win while Bailee Martin scored 14. Ella Botts rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11.
Carlee Burdette led Elk Valley with 10.
Mercer Christian improves to 15-7 and will play Teays Valley in the championship game in Institute.

Charmco – Ava Barclay scored 14 points as Greenbrier West held off a Tygarts Valley rally for a 42-37 win Friday in Charmco.
Abigail Thomas pitched in 10 for the Lady Cavs in the win while Raelyn Palmer added six.
Abigail Caboniss led Tygarts Valley with 15 points in the loss.
West finished the regular season at 10-12 and will play Meadow Bridge at Oak Hill on Tuesday in the sectional tournament.
