Lewis County 53, Philip Barbour 42
Charleston – Lewis County made a 10-point lead stick in the final quarter, fending off Philip Barbour, last year’s state runner-up, 53-42 Tuesday night in a Class AAA quarterfinal matchup at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Ella Pinkney led the Minutemaids with 20 points and 14 rebounds while Kenna Maxwell added 17 points. The win came despite Lewis County turning the ball over 31 times.
Rylee Bodkins led Philip Barbour with 20 points in the loss while Braylon Sparks netted 10.
Lewis County will play No. 1 East Fairmont Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
