MARTINSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey and U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will hold a press conference on Friday in Martinsburg.
The purpose of the conference is to discuss food dye legislation and proposed changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), according to the governor’s office.
Governor Morrisey recently signed a law banning certain food and drink dyes in West Virginia, making it the first state to enact such a ban.
The law will take effect in public schools in August 2025 and statewide in 2028, allowing companies time to adjust their ingredients.
Further details on the SNAP changes are expected during the press conference.
