CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Monday afternoon, West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey provided an update on Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe of the West Virginia National Guard, who was shot by an Afghan national in Washington, D.C., last Wednesday.
Governor Morrisey stated that Wolfe remains in serious condition as he continues to fight for his life at a Washington, D.C., hospital. He added that Wolfe has been responsive to commands to move parts of his body.

Wolfe was one of two West Virginia National Guardsmen shot during the incident. Specialist Sarah Beckstrom of Summersville, the other Guardsman, succumbed to her injuries last Thursday.
Governor Morrisey noted that the only request from Andrew’s mother was that everyone continue to pray for her son.
As of Monday, Morrisey reported that 170 West Virginia National Guard members remain in Washington, D.C., all serving on a voluntary basis.
The governor also said he has spoken with President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi, who have assured him that a “complete and full investigation” is underway.
