FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people were arrested late Monday night after Fayetteville police discovered a stolen vehicle and recovered fentanyl during an investigation at a local gas station.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the incident occurred on March 2, 2026, at approximately 11:29 p.m. at the Sheetz.
Police said Officer M.S. Kees made contact with a suspicious vehicle parked at the location. During the investigation, Officer Kees and Officer K. Cullum determined the vehicle had been reported stolen.
Authorities also recovered approximately 7.4 grams of fentanyl during the investigation.
The driver, Ashley R. Bowles, was arrested and charged with conspiracy, receiving a stolen vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance.
The passenger, Bobby M. Bowles, was arrested and charged with conspiracy and receiving a stolen vehicle.
Both individuals were transported to the Southern Regional Jail following their arrests.
In a statement, Fayetteville Police Chief T.M. Hogan said the case demonstrates the department’s continued commitment to solving crime in the community.
