BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Patrick Morrisey signed three bills on Friday aimed at strengthening Second Amendment protections for West Virginians.
The bill signing took place at Cacapon Resort State Park, where the governor was joined by state legislators and local supporters.
“As Governor, I will always support and defend West Virginians’ God-given constitutional rights,” said Governor Morrisey.
“The bills I signed today further enshrine West Virginia’s strong support for the Second Amendment. Thank you to the legislature for working with me to get this done.”
The three bills signed into law include:
- House Bill 2067, which protects firearm manufacturers from being held liable for crimes committed with their products.
- House Bill 3342, which bars banks that contract with the state from discriminating against firearm-related businesses or trade associations.
- Senate Bill 270, which prevents the government from suspending gun rights during emergencies or disaster declarations.
The new laws are part of Governor Morrisey’s stated commitment to defending constitutional rights and supporting gun owners in the state.
