HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Martha Braswell, owner of Off The Rails Nails LLC, is inviting the community to attend the 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2026, grand opening and ribbon cutting celebrating her new salon at 310 3rd Avenue in Hinton.
Braswell, a Veteran, said in January 2026 she and her husband purchased the historic Tomkies & Son Building, now known as The Braswell House, with a vision to restore the landmark and transform it into a vibrant downtown destination. Off The Rails Nails is an important part of that revitalization, honoring Hinton’s railroad heritage while creating something exciting for the community.
“Inspired by conversations with local residents while working at the city gym, I envisioned bringing a special beauty and self-care experience to Hinton and the surrounding communities,” said Braswell. She is working with Matt Nichols, Regional Business Advisor at the West Virginia Hive, to turn that vision into reality through Off The Rails Nails.
Braswell said her salon will combine personalized service, historic charm, and modern beauty through the inspiration of the elegance of the 1920s and Hinton’s rich railroad history. The business offers manicures, pedicures, facials, and waxing services. Guests can also enjoy Rest Assured Massage by Kelly Cales, featuring a full menu of massage services.
Braswell said Off the Rails Nails is ”far more than a salon.” She said it invites guests to step away from everyday stresses, relax, and enjoy a welcoming, personalized experience. Through The Braswell House, Martha hopes to contribute to downtown revitalization, support the local economy, and create a destination that brings renewed energy and community pride to Hinton.
“Martha is driven and dedicated,” said Nichols. “The Hive is offering our expertise and technical assistance to guide and boost her entrepreneurial interests – and her desire to bring something of value to her community.”
The WV Hive is an entrepreneurial program of the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority, serving Raleigh, Fayette, Summers, Nicholas counties, as well as active CBRI Accelerate communities, including Logan, Gilbert, Kermit, Kimball, and Williamson.
