BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Raleigh County man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his grandfather after allegedly linking financial accounts and making dozens of unauthorized transactions.
According to state police, the investigation began on March 30, 2026, after a complaint was reported at a residence on Citizen Drive in Beckley. The victim told authorities that $13,181 had been taken from his bank account over the course of several months.
Bank records from First Community Bank showed 74 transactions between early January and late March 2026, many of which were linked to the name Dominick Michael Meadows.
Troopers later made contact with both the victim and Meadows at a separate residence on Colden Street. Investigators determined that Meadows had connected his Cash App account and Chime card to his grandfather’s bank account and had been withdrawing money without permission.
Authorities say Meadows admitted to taking the money, and the activity was also captured on camera footage. The transactions reportedly occurred while the victim was hospitalized and unaware of the withdrawals.
The victim told investigators he did not realize the full extent of the missing funds until later. Family members indicated that Meadows is expected to repay the money to the bank.
