GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Greenbrier County man has been arrested following a joint investigation into internet crimes against children.
Christopher Scott Adwell, 45, of the Dawson area, was taken into custody as part of an operation conducted by the Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and the West Virginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Authorities charged Adwell with possession of child pornographic images.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police, Lewisburg Police Department, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, and multiple other law enforcement agencies participated in the investigation.
Adwell was arraigned and placed on a $30,000 bond before being transported to the Southern Regional Jail. Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
Greenbrier County Sheriff Bart Baker urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant about their children’s online interactions, including on social media and messaging apps such as Snapchat.
