BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh County Commissioner Greg Duckworth was selected as President of the Raleigh County Commission on Tuesday.
The development came about as part of a Special Meeting of the commission scheduled following the unfortunate passing of former Raleigh County Commission President, Dave Tolliver last week.
It was announced on Monday that Daniel Hall had been selected by the Raleigh County Republican Executive Committee as the Republican candidate to run in November to fulfill Tolliver’s unexpired commission term, which continues until 2028.
“I am honored and humbled by my selection by the Committee. Dave was a man I deeply respected, and filling his role in the county will be difficult, but I look forward to the challenge,” said Hall.
“Dave was someone I considered a friend and a great public servant. I hope to carry forward his love for our county, his conservative values, and his hard work ethic should I be successful in November. At this point, I will focus on mounting a winning campaign for November.”
A former member of the WV House of Delegates and the WV Senate, Hall previously held the position of Majority Whip.
