HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A convicted felon is back behind bars after allegedly firing multiple rounds into a Huntington residence in broad daylight.
Just after noon on April 23, Huntington police responded to reports of gunshots in the 1600 block of 10th Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered a home at 1638 10th Avenue had been struck multiple times by gunfire. No one was found inside the residence.
During a search of the scene, officers recovered seven spent .45 caliber shell casings. Surveillance footage from a nearby home captured a man firing nine rounds toward the residence in a densely populated area.
Witnesses later identified the suspected shooter as Rashaun Page, a resident of the 1800 block of 9th Avenue. Officers located Page shortly afterward driving near 17th Street and Daulton Avenue. He was wearing the same clothing seen in the video footage.
A police K-9 alerted officers to the presence of narcotics during a free-air sniff of the vehicle. A search of the car uncovered a loaded .45 caliber pistol under the passenger seat, containing ammunition consistent with the shell casings found at the shooting scene.
Page has a prior violent felony conviction for unlawful wounding in 2015, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm. He now faces multiple charges in connection with the shooting.
No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
