Recorded absolutely live in the USA, “Rock n’ Roll Sword Fight” captures the fun and exciting experience that is Gyasi (pronounced Jah-See) on stage. A flamboyant singer/guitarist/songwriter from Nashville, this modern-day glam rocker brings back the heavy sounds once pioneered by T-Rex, The Stooges and Led Zeppelin.
The lead single “All Messed Up (Medley)” from the new LP is a track originally from Gyasi’s Alive Naturalsound Records 2022 debut “Pronounced Jah-See.” The medley also incorporates a version of Lou Reed’s “I’m Waiting For The Man” done in Ziggy Stardust slash-and-burn style, as well as a bit of The Doors’ “Back Door Man,” a song that was originally recorded by Howlin’ Wolf.
Not unlike The Stones’ Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out! or The Who’s Live at Leeds, where the live versions of their ’60s studio material were elevated to a new explosive, more lethal level, “All Messed Up (Medley),” and this entire live LP, for that matter, perfectly encapsulates this powerful metamorphosis from studio material to unhinged, highly combustible live crowd-pleasers. This is raw power for new rock n’ roll people. Play it loud!
Gyasi’s Rock n’ Roll Sword Fight live album will be available May 24th via Alive Naturalsound Records. His “All Messed Up (Medley)” single is out now on all digital/streaming platforms.
