BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A hiker was safely rescued Tuesday evening after falling onto a ledge near the Glade Creek Trail.
According to Beaver Volunteer Fire Department, crews were dispatched just after 5 p.m. following a 911 call reporting a single adult female who had fallen while hiking alone in the area.
Rescuers reached the woman using side-by-side vehicles and rope rescue equipment. Personnel from the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department, the National Park Service, and JanCare worked together to safely remove her from the ledge.
The woman was successfully brought back up to the trail and transferred to a waiting ambulance for medical evaluation. No further details on her condition were immediately released.
Officials remind hikers to use caution when traveling alone and to be mindful of trail conditions, especially in rugged terrain.
