GHENT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, deputies were dispatched to a reported shooting on Odd Road in Ghent.
Once on the scene, deputies soon discovered that a homeowner/victim had walked in on a burglary in progress to his home. Â The victim confronted the suspect, Francis Shawn Combs, who then attacked the victim. Â The victim was armed with a handgun and did discharge the weapon to defend himself.
The suspect, who was not injured, then fled from the home and was taken into custody once officers arrived on the scene.
This is an ongoing investigation, and more charges may be forthcoming.
