BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) — On December 26, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to a domestic violence complaint at 420 Jonah Avenue. Cpl. T.A. Lacy, Deputy M.C. Altice, and Deputy W.C. Morrow arrived at the scene to investigate.
According to the victim, her husband, Anthony Blevins, had assaulted her during a physical altercation. The victim stated that Anthony had hit her multiple times with his fists and threw her phone, striking her left shin and causing it to bleed. Deputies observed visible blood on her shin.
She also reported that Anthony had choked her during the incident, though she did not lose consciousness. While no visible marks were found on her neck, she described experiencing pain in her neck, head, wrists, and shin. She declined medical attention from EMS.
Deputies noted signs of a struggle in the kitchen, where multiple items had been knocked off the counters and onto the floor. She explained that she and Anthony had wrestled on the floor, during which he allegedly grabbed her neck, preventing her from getting up.
While officers were on the scene, Anthony Blevins returned to the residence. He was immediately taken into custody, handcuffed, and transported to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department for processing in accordance with department protocols.
