CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey has confirmed that two people have died as a result of last weekend’s severe flooding in McDowell County.
The victims have been identified as Donald and Debbie Griffin of Welch, according to the governor.
Authorities continue to search for a third individual who remains missing in Welch.
Additionally, Gov. Morrisey reported that a firefighter died on Monday in McDowell County.
Further details regarding the firefighter’s death have not yet been released.
Emergency responders and state officials are continuing recovery and relief efforts in the affected areas.
