CHAPMANVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An individual faces a slew of charges following a DUI arrest last Tuesday during which multiple children were found to be present in the vehicle.
According to reports from the Chapmanville Police Department, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, Sgt. E.C. Ferrell, Patrolman M.C. Dudley, and Patrolman D.M. Christian conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for which the registration was observed to be expired.
Upon engaging with the individual operating the vehicle, officers discovered the driver to be impaired at the time of the stop.
Additionally, multiple controlled substances including Fentanyl were found to be in the driver’s possession during the exchange.
Officers also discovered two juveniles in the back seat of the vehicle at the time the traffic stop was conducted.
The driver, whose identity has been redacted in the interest of the privacy of the children involved in the incident, faces charges including two counts of Child Neglect Creating Risk of Injury, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Schedule V Controlled Substance.
