HAMLIN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Southern WV Community & Technical College Foundation announced this morning that it will be teaming with Mountain Men, M.C. for its inaugural Poker Run Fundraising event, from which proceeds will be used to support the Mountain Man, M.C. Scholarship.
Traditionally, a poker run entails participants traveling to 5 to 7 locations – generally by way of motorcycle or ATV – to obtain a playing card from each stop. The game, in this case, will be 5 Card Stud, and players will collect one card from each of Southern’s 5 campuses.
Registration will be held the day of the event, Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 10:00am. Kickstands will go up at 11:00am, marking departure for the first campus stop in Lincoln County.Â
Refreshments will be served for participants at each campus stop, the last of which will be in Logan County. Sausage biscuits will be available prior to the ride, and hotdogs will be served at the Wyoming County campus stop.Â
Once a card from each campus is retrieved, winners of a cash prize will be selected by determining the holders of the highest and lowest hands.Â
Upon conclusion of the ride, participants are invited to join the Mountain Men, M.C. at their clubhouse in Chapmanville for entertainment and food.Â
All riders are encouraged to show up and participate in the poker run. Cost for participation will be $15 per rider or $25 per couple.Â
Event donations and general donations to the Southern Community & Technical College Foundation may be tax deductible, and checks are to be made payable to Southern WV Community College Foundation.Â
