BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The inaugural Raleigh County Fair opens Friday, July 3, at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center, offering three days of livestock shows, food, entertainment, vendors and fireworks.
The fair, presented by the Raleigh County West Virginia Farm Bureau, runs through Sunday, July 5, under the theme “From Our County to Our Country.” Admission is free for residents of Raleigh, Boone, Mercer, Summers, Wyoming, Kanawha and Fayette counties.
Friday’s festivities begin at 5 p.m. behind the arena and include food trucks, craft vendors, face painting, pony rides, livestock exhibits and demonstrations. Live music is scheduled from 8 to 11 p.m., with a pause during the fireworks display. Fireworks, provided by the City of Beckley, are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Food vendors behind the arena include the BRCCCI Concessions Stand, CKS Sunshine Lemonade, Chick-fil-A, The Wing Hole and Coal Camp BBQ. Hungry Fellars will be located in the convention center’s upper parking lot. Additional parking will be available at the nearby Little League fields.
Saturday’s events begin with a livestock show at 8 a.m. and continue with food trucks, local vendors and live music from 7 to 9 p.m. A second fireworks display will take place Saturday night at Epling Stadium.
The fair concludes Sunday with the Jackpot Sheep and Goat Show beginning at 8 a.m., along with food trucks, local vendors and local and national exhibitors.
Organizers say the event is designed to celebrate agriculture while supporting youth agriculture programs and West Virginia farming through the fair’s inaugural three-day celebration.
