SAINT ALBANS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A juvenile male has been arrested following an altercation with his sister on Wednesday.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department reports that on Wednesday, January 18, 2022, at around 7:00pm, Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Surrey Terrace in the Saint Albans area of Kanawha County regarding an incident which had transpired between two siblings.
Deputy H. R. Shamblin, the investigating deputy, located the individuals involved in the incident, which reportedly entailed a juvenile female being stabbed by her juvenile brother.
Deputy Shamblin was advised by the mother of both the victim and suspect that a verbal argued which had ensued between the two siblings had escalated to the point that the juvenile male stabbed his sister in the leg with a “hunting style” knife, resulting in a laceration.
The juvenile female victim was treated on the scene for her injuries by Kanawha County medics, while the juvenile male suspect was transported to CAMC General by deputies to be treated for a head wound he had sustained during the incident. He was released shortly thereafter.
The active investigation into the stabbing led to an emergency juvenile detention hearing at Kanawha County Magistrate Court. The juvenile male was arrested for one Felony count of Malicious Wounding and was placed in Tiger Morton Juvenile Facility on a $20,000 cash bond.
Presumably to protect the identities of the juveniles involved in the incident, the names and ages of the victim and suspect were not revealed in deputy reports.
