PITTSBURGH, PA (LOOTPRESS) – One juvenile has been arrested following a robbery and shots fired incident.
According to the Pittsburgh Police Department, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Police from Zone 6 were called to the 1600 block of Broadway Avenue after a male got into an altercation with employees at Las Palmas, stole the tip jar, and fled the store.
Employees chased after the suspect, who fired at them in the area of Hampshire Ave. and Rutherford Ave.
The employees fired back and the male ran off. No one was injured.
Police set up a perimeter and one of the K9 units eventually located the suspect in the 1600 block of Belasco Avenue. A second K9 located a firearm in the area.
The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene.
The suspect is a juvenile and was taken by medics to the hospital to be cleared medically before being questioned by detectives.
The Violent Crime Unit will be handling the investigation.
