CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Park Place Stadium Cinemas in Charleston has revealed its decision to close its doors permanently marking the end of an era that has spanned over four decades.
The business officially closed at the end of the day on Monday, May 6th, 2024.
The closure comes as a result of declining business and the financial burden of necessary upgrades, according to management.
The news was conveyed to the community through a letter posted to the establishment’s Facebook page.
“This decision wasn’t easy, but unfortunately, declining business and the high cost of necessary upgrades have made it unavoidable,” management stated.
Despite the impending closure, there remains a glimmer of hope for the cinema.
The management expressed optimism that a new operator might step in to revitalize the venue and restore its former glory.
