LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A routine call to a local Walmart turned into an arrest Saturday after Lewisburg Police say a woman was caught inhaling air duster while walking through the store.
According to Patrolman Thomas of the Lewisburg Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance at the Walmart on Jefferson Street North on December 1, 2025. When Thomas arrived, he found Sgt. Williams with the suspect — later identified as Vicky Scott — along with several members of Walmart’s Asset Protection team.
Walmart API employees reported witnessing Scott inhale multiple cans of air duster as she moved through the aisles. She also allegedly had a shopping cart containing unpaid merchandise, including an air duster can, two AV accessories, and a Mountain Dew, totaling $24.00.
As officers spoke with Scott and store personnel, Scott verbally admitted to inhaling the air duster, police said. She was escorted to the API office to receive trespass paperwork for shoplifting, while Patrolman Thomas stepped outside to prepare citations.
Moments later, Sgt. Williams exited the store with Scott in mechanical restraints. Williams reported that Scott attempted to inhale another can of air duster during questioning and then began pulling away from him, prompting her detention.
Scott was transported to the Lewisburg Police Department for processing, where she again admitted to inhaling air duster inside the store, according to the report. She was then taken to Southern Regional Jail.
