Hinton – The Sophia Junior All-Stars knocked off the Hinton Junior League All-Stars 18-8 Wednesday night in six innings to secure the District 4 Junior Baseball title.
Sophia took a 2-1 lead after two innings before scoring six runs in both the third and fourth innings to take control of the contest.
Tristan Lykins was on fire at the plate going 4-for-4 including a triple, two doubles and seven RBI to lead Sophia.
Kaiden Randolph collected three hits in four trips to the plate, driving in three runs, while Jacen Brogan was 3-for-3 with a double.
Landon Frazier and Braylon Brooks each had an RBI in the win.
Cody Snavely had two hits, including a double, for Hinton and drove in two runs. Teammate Lucas Harrah also had a pair of hits and one RBI.
Both teams will advance to the state tournament in Martinsburg starting July 6.
