(LOOTPRESS) – Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has dedicated her 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to both the people of Venezuela and President Donald Trump.
The Nobel Committee recognized Machado for her years-long struggle against dictatorship in Venezuela.

“I dedicate the prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!” Machado wrote in English on X.
Machado, 58, remains in hiding after being blocked from running for president in 2024.
She has been one of the most vocal critics of President Nicolás Maduro, who has ruled Venezuela since 2013.
The White House later commented on the award, noting the timing of the announcement shortly after Trump’s talks on a Gaza cease-fire.
“President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives… The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace,” spokesperson Steven Cheung said.
It is not yet known if Machado will attend the Nobel ceremony in Oslo on December 10.
