PRICHARD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A ‘major drug dealer’ was arrested in Wayne County during a traffic stop in Prichard, according to Sheriff Eddie Bradshaw.
The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a sedan driven by John Maynard of Huntington.
Maynard consented to a search of the vehicle, and during the inspection, deputies discovered three plastic bags containing approximately five pounds of methamphetamine hidden behind the trunk liner.
Sheriff Bradshaw stated the meth had an estimated street value of $32,000.
The investigation revealed that Maynard was allegedly supplying methamphetamine to several areas, including Kenova, Fort Gay, and Crum in Wayne County, as well as parts of Cabell and Mingo counties in West Virginia and Martin and Lawrence counties in Kentucky.
Maynard was charged with possession with intent to deliver, and more charges are expected as the investigation continues.
A report has also been submitted to the federal prosecutor.
