WESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A violent altercation unfolded in the emergency room parking lot of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, West Virginia, leading to the arrest of Joseph Scott Yoak. Authorities report that Yoak allegedly assaulted his mother by grabbing her by the throat during the incident.
The situation escalated when law enforcement arrived. According to Officer W.J. Curran II, Yoak punched the officer in the chest while resisting arrest inside the hospital’s waiting area. Despite the resistance, Officer Curran managed to subdue Yoak and secure him in a Weston Police Department cruiser.
While being placed in the vehicle, Yoak reportedly kicked Officer Curran in the face as the officer attempted to fasten his seatbelt. Following the incident, York was transported to Central Regional Jail, where he was being held.
Yoak faces charges of domestic battery and assault on a law enforcement officer.
