BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boone County man is facing charges after allegedly firing multiple rounds during a dispute Thursday evening in the Ashford area.
According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers responded to a shots fired call around 7:15 p.m. on May 7, 2026, at a residence on Brentwood Lane in Boone County.
Troopers said the incident stemmed from a verbal altercation between the victim and Joshua James Lively. During the confrontation, Lively allegedly fired several rounds from a 9mm handgun in the victim’s direction.
Police said the victim reported that after the initial shots were fired, Lively allegedly fired another series of rounds before fleeing the scene.
Multiple witnesses at the scene reportedly told troopers they observed the accused firing shots toward the victim.
When officers arrived, Lively was no longer at the residence.
The incident remains under investigation by the West Virginia State Police.
