LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man accused of threatening a woman in the parking lot of the Lewisburg Walmart was arrested after officers found a loaded handgun and multiple knives in his vehicle, according to the Lewisburg Police Department.
The investigation began after a suspicious person report on October 4, 2025, when a woman, Haylee Robinson, told police she was sitting in her car around midnight when a man in a black sports car began watching her and repeatedly repositioning his vehicle nearby.
Robinson said the man eventually pulled up beside her and told her, “You’re coming with me,” before adding, “I have a gun — you’re coming with me,” while showing a firearm on his lap. She fled the parking lot and later reported the incident.
Surveillance footage from Walmart confirmed a vehicle matching her description — a black sports car with a broken, taped driver’s window — had been in the area.
Three days later, on October 7, police were called back to the Walmart after another woman reported a similar encounter involving the same type of vehicle. Officers Patrolman M. Yates and Patrolman J. Thomas located the suspect, identified as Frank Scott Leilich, sitting in a car that matched the description from both incidents.
When questioned, Leilich denied following anyone and claimed he was being chased by cartel members from Texas, alleging they had shot at him and accused him of stealing a gun.
Due to Leilich’s erratic behavior and prior reports of a firearm, officers conducted a K-9 search of the vehicle, which alerted near the driver’s side door. A search revealed a loaded .380-caliber Jimenez Arms handgun hidden under the seat, along with several knives.
Police later learned Leilich had multiple prior felony convictions, including for possession of a controlled substance in Norfolk, Virginia (2025), and nighttime burglary in Fayetteville, West Virginia (2008), as well as a misdemeanor weapons charge in Texas earlier this year.
Leilich was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and attempted kidnapping, among other offenses. He was transported to the Southern Regional Jail, where he remains pending arraignment in Greenbrier County Magistrate Court.
Authorities said the investigation remains active, as officers are reviewing additional reports of similar suspicious activity in the Walmart parking lot.
