JUNIOR, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Barbour County man was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly threatening another person with an axe during a domestic dispute.
At approximately 2:55 a.m. on March 31, deputies responded to a reported physical domestic incident involving weapons at 145 First Street in Junior. Upon arrival, Deputy N.C. Whited and Cpl. G. Kennedy found the suspect, Shawn Lynn Rexroad, sitting in a chair with an axe propped against the armrest.
Rexroad was immediately placed in hand restraints and taken into custody. The victim told deputies that after a brief argument, Rexroad picked up the axe, threatened him, and swung it into the floor before continuing to issue verbal threats while holding the weapon in a menacing manner.
Rexroad was arrested on charges of Attempted Malicious Assault and transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail, where he awaits arraignment.
