OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) –
A domestic violence incident on Tuesday night escalated into a terrifying ordeal when police say a man attempted to throw his female companion out of a second-story window.
At approximately 10:40 p.m. on April 15, 2025, officers with the Oak Hill Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at 110 Main Street, Apartment 2A. Patrolman S. Crosier and Lt. J.G. Hoover arrived at the scene and made contact with the male suspect, identified as James Milleage Meyers.
Meyers told officers he had been trying to wrestle drugs away from his partner, but claimed he never physically harmed her.
The victim, however, gave a different account. Visibly shaken and fearful, she told officers that Meyers had assaulted her. She displayed large red welts and scratches, and reacted nervously to every sound near the apartment door. Officers reassured her of her safety while she explained the alleged attack.
The victim chose to press charges and was advised of her rights under domestic violence law, including how to file for a protective order.
Based on visible injuries and the violent behavior reported, Meyers was arrested at the scene and charged with domestic battery.
