RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is facing charges after he allegedly became physical with his fiance.
According to Raleigh County Deputies, on December 27, 2022, they responded to a domestic incident in the Dry Hill area. When they arrived, the victim told deputies that she came home from her trip around midnight, and she and Anthony Adkins got into an argument about a space heater and leaving for the holidays.
During the argument, the two became physical. The victim stated that she was tossed around from different rooms and was tackled. Adkins allegedly struck her in the face and body and held her down on the floor with his knee on her neck, preventing her from breathing. Deputies observed bruises on the victim and a swollen eye. Adkins also took the victim’s phone and threatened to snap her neck if she called the police.
When deputies questioned Adkins, he admitted to the violence and said the victim took the worse end of the beating. He said he was a man and owned up and was responsible for everything that happened that night.
Adkins was charged with domestic battery, malicious wounding, and strangulation. Adkins is currently out on bond.
